Growing from nothing

The lights flash as you pick up the pen. You open up the folder and see a line to sign your name. Is this what you really want? Is this all a dream? Can this actually be true?  You sign your name and set down the pen, look up and smile for the camera. All is done, all is set.

Every little girl dreams of becoming a princess and marrying prince charming, but I was never like all the other girls. The question always asked when we are young is 'What do you want to be when you are older?' Most answers are astronauts or veterinarians, but I had a completely different answer. I wanted to be an Olympic Softball player.

I have been raised to dream big or else you have nothing to live for. Playing softball throughout my life has always been my dream, my life. I  have grown up on the dirt; the person I am today has been shaped by the leadership and skills I have learned on the field. Not only does my success in softball make my family happy, it brings me instant joy. I control my fate and destiny with the work I put into this dream.

With determination dreams come true. I may not be Olympic material or a D1 player but I am a good pick. I am hard working and a great leader to people around me. I worked from the start and risen to the top to play softball at my school of choice. I bring hope, I bring love, and I bring strength.

I was a nobody, I am now a College Athlete.
